Capital on Tap

Size

18,000 Sq ft

Location

EC1, London

We partnered with our sister company, Modus, to deliver the furniture for Capital on Tap, a fintech company that helps small businesses manage spending and access funding through simple tools, in their new HQ in HYLO. Having outgrown their serviced space, the fintech team wanted a workplace that could grow with them. The brief focused on multifunctional spaces that focused on their culture, and the furniture had to reflect that.

Invested in First Impressions

The reception area was transformed into a welcome area with soft and curved furniture. Four Ginger Lounge chairs by Ondarreta, upholstered in midnight blue boucle weave, provide an inviting touch. These are paired with a sculptural Artiko double sofa by MDD, finished in Gabriel’s speckled beige fabric, and Muuto’s Workshop coffee tables in black oak.

As you move into the breakout zones, oak-framed Chisel Lounge chairs from HAY, finished in Kvadrat’s Hallingdal, are grouped around black Bella coffee tables. The balance of natural material and tonal contrast keeps things grounded but visually interesting.

In the huddle space, shape does most of the talking. A three-piece Connect Modular sofa by Muuto, upholstered in Maharam’s rich Undersea blue, curves across the floorplate and frames the zone. A mix of Fibre Lounge and Wrap chairs sit alongside it, with soft Silo poufs from Normann Copenhagen and a Muuto Soft coffee table tying the setup together.

Diversifying the Material Portfolio

Across the two floors, it’s the colours and material mix that pull the space together. Gordal green lockers from Rawside, black oak tables, and plenty of natural finishes keep the palette consistent without ever feeling flat. Meeting rooms are fitted out with Rawside Workaround tables and soft blush Rego Ellipse chairs by B&T Design, professional but with just enough playfulness to feel different.

And then there’s Level 7. The town hall and breakout space bring a whole new energy, with a mix of HAY Revolver stools, Muuto Cover bar stools in dark beige oak, and Linear Wood timber dining tables from Muuto. The lounge area is dotted with soft HAY AAL 87 chairs and more Bella tables from HAY, pulling the whole floor together as a place to chat, gather, or take five between meetings.
